As a church school in an ever-changing world, we have a responsibility not only to educate our children in the traditional subjects, but to broaden their minds and build their confidence so that they become independent, inquisitive and reflective learners.

For children, Science is a subject that provides a tangible link to learning and the evolving world around them.  Our aim is to equip them with the scientific knowledge required to understand the uses and implications of science today and for the future.

Our aim is to deliver a high-quality science education that provides the foundations for understanding the world through the specific disciplines of biology, chemistry and physics.  They are encouraged to understand how Science can be used to explain what is occurring, predict how things will behave, and analyse causes.  During our weekly science lessons, we focus on specific skills in order to develop their ability to think scientifically.  All children are encouraged to develop skills by observing, planning and investigating. Specific scientific vocabulary for topics is taught and questioning scientific concepts is encouraged. We hope, that through our teaching, all of our children will develop an enthusiasm and lifelong love for Science.
